I am looking for any help and advice can get on this.
I have a 1989 master craft prostar 190. The boat has been in my family since new. After many years in storage I have begun to bring it back to life and use it again . After many other troubles and issues This is the last one I have. and This old water ski junky needs a fix (lol)
I need to replace the rotten alum waterski center pylon im scared to use it. I dont want it to come out and meet me while skiing . I think its too far gone for measuring and since alum corroded from the inside out and this thing has grown real fat and bloated.
I went to the local mc dealer and they have changed hands and locations so many times no one there knows anything about the older mc boats. And as for parts from them good luck roll the dice.
I need to replace the pylon , where can I get one ? will I loose the rope swivel?
I can see in the bildge it appears to be held in by only a couple of u bolts to the cross member. Getting that rotten thing loose and removed may be another story.
I would like to get a extra tall one for wakeboading and so I can use the back seat more. I have seen the slip over ones but my pylon is too shot for that. Since I have to replace it I want to up grade to a longer one. I dont like the look of the ski towers on the older boats and i dont want to cut/ hack up my old boat. Anybody tried to tackle this yet??
please advise =) all imput is welcome.

I am replacing the one in my 1980 Stars and Stripes. My buddy owns a machine shop and we are simply cutting the angle beam out and replacing with new pole, new angle being welded to remaining support. If you can find a local custom metal shop, they should be able to make something for you. Just buying a pole online will run you $300.00 dollars. I found a Skylon and will use it to get up in the air. I can send pics if you need help.
